The Village Pantry at Narara Ecovillage offers organic and ethically sourced products that align with sustainable living.
Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, or following a low-sugar diet, the pantry has something to meet your needs. Locally sourced products like oil and olives from small-scale, ethical farms are available. Fresh produce is available from the community garden, as well as bulk pantry staples such as cleaning and laundry products and bathroom essentials. We also sell organic treats. Most items on your shopping list can be found at the Village Pantry!
We welcome casual shoppers, or you can buy an annual Pantry membership and get a 10% discount on the entire range of products (available to members, visitors, and local residents).
Open Saturday morning, Monday night and Wednesday afternoon.
Established in 2017, the Village Pantry was established for, and is run by members. We operate as a social enterprise, where members contribute to the running of the pantry by ordering and managing stock, serving customers, maintaining and cleaning the shop. This collaborative model allows for meaningful participation. Young children and teens benefit from real-world retail experience, developing valuable life skills.
We support local businesses, and are an integral part of the ecovillage’s circular economy. Food scraps and waste are carefully recycled, and members bring their own containers to refill when shopping. We aim to tackle the global plastic problem directly.

Narara Ecovillage’s vision is to achieve an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable world. The pantry is one example of how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
The Village Pantry at Narara Ecovillage is more than just a place to shop, it’s an example of how community-driven sustainability can thrive.
