The quarterly Open Weekend of activities give you a more in depth opportunity to engage with the village and its members. On Friday we start with ‘A Taste of Sociocracy’ with wine and cheese, from 7-9pm led by Lyndall Parris, envisioner and founder of the ecovillage.
The Open weekend continues on Saturday, where there are several options prior to the Open Day Talk & Tour at 10, and we have a choice of workshops in the afternoon:
Learn how to make delicious focaccia bread with
artisan home baker, Karl Schurr
- Learn principles of easy bread making
- Taste some yummy bread
- Take some bread home
Karl has been making bread for himself and friends for years, and now makes the focaccia for NEVille, the coffee cart in the village.
alternatively there is Foraging for Wild Vegetables, followed by a ‘Fun on the Street’ innovative introduction to our ‘Journey to Joining’, and a shared dinner, and the option of a film in our Village Hall to end the evening.
On Sunday we start with a session unpacking the origins and development of Sociocracy, ‘Roots and Shoots’, and in the afternoon Tanya will be running the Collaboration Game.
The weekend is designed to introduce you to what Narara Ecovillage is all about, and how we are putting our ideas around ecological, social and economic potential into action:
* shared food growing, natural retreats and Permaculture spaces
* shared community and workplaces
* surrounded by examples of highly efficient low-carbon homes already occupied in ‘Northside’ and being built now in the second, ‘Southside’ stage.
The Basic Half day Talk & Tour tickets are:
* $15 contribution per adult
* NELN (Narara EcoLiving Network) members free
* Under 18s free
