Peter has moved into the compact 2 room home that he bought from Emily.
He loves the light-footprint and low-cost living, sharing the lot with 2 others, and enjoys the proximity of the natural world, enjoying hiking in the Strickland forest on our doorstep and kayaking in our 45 megalitre dam.
Emily had grown up in Sydney and had retired from nursing. She was inspired by a visit to “Findhorn” (community in Northern Scotland) where she found people who were very “alive” and growing as individuals in their interaction with each other – and not becoming isolated in their “aloneness” as so often happens in our present society.
Very interested in living in a community with like minded people who want to live in harmony with each other and with the earth in a sustainable, healing way, she built the small house which utilises straw panels for low impact and high insulation and temperature stability, cladded with Weathertex, a recycled Australian-made cladding, in 2021.
I love the abundance and beauty of the natural world and want to contribute to nurturing it.Peter
