Jonathan and Sue – Came from cooler climes!

admin People

Jonathan and Sue have come from 20 years in Melbourne, and before that they hailed from London. Retiring from ‘paid employment’ they feel they still have plenty of energy and enthusiasm to give to try to make a better world. Jonathan, a Rabbi, was involved in Interfaith work as well as Environmental awareness, and brought these together by serving on the Board of the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change for a number of years. Sue is a teacher who specialised in Special Needs Education. They have two adult children, Mia, who lives in London, and Ada, in Melbourne.

“Great, supportive community. Like many before us, we have already lived in a variety of homes here in the village: in a caravan, at Paperbark House, house sitting at Bellbird House, and now we are lucky to have a six month house-sit overlooking the meadow and forest.”

Jonathan and Sue have purchased a lot in the ‘Southside’ (the new area) of the village, which they are sharing with Tanya. They have had their plans for 2 houses endorsed by the Building Review Panel, and are now waiting for their DA.

“The wait is outside of our control – but because we are using a modular build, we expect it to be a quick process, and are hopeful we’ll finally be able to move into our new home in less than a year.”

Let’s hope that’s not tempting providence! Meanwhile both Sue and Jonathan are involved in various ways in village life, and each do some ‘Village Hours’ each week at Reception, so you may well bump into one or both of them. They seem very settled and happy to be here already, and consider it (nearly always!) ‘A slice of Paradise’, so quiet and peaceful as well as friendly and helpful and neighbourly. And usually warm and sunny as well!

“We feel we have come to the right place!”
