On March Open Day we are delighted to offer something different – an Art Tour of Narara Ecovillage! We have several artists living here, some hiding their talents behind the sandstone rocks, but as time goes on, the creatives and artistic are emerging and we’d like this opportunity to show off their talents. 

Art and History of the ecovillage go hand in hand.  Some art is created to enhance a story such as the Swift Parrot, an endangered species. The village created a safe habitat for the parrots by planting swamp mahogany trees, and at the same time, the event was immortalised by a painting on the camping ablutions block, in a spot viewed by campers, visitors and bush walkers. 

Another highlight on the art tour will be a visit to Linda’s Hobbit style art studio.  As well as seeing inside the popular studio, you’ll see art from six Central Coast artists with an eclectic display of art.  You may like to come back in the afternoon from 2-4pm when some festive refreshments will be on offer.  At 4-6pm storytelling is returning to the village and some special stories will be told with the theme “Tales from the Village”.  Who knows what snippets you’ll hear!

…Future Folk Incoming to Narara! The legends at Bespoke Folk Music have curated a folk rave with some of the hottest folk fusion creators on the planet right now.

7pm doors. Music at 7:30pm. Under 16 free.

Shark & Fox open the evening with fearless musicianship and magnetic interplay. Led by the expressive pairing of Jaron Freeman-Fox (CAN) and Emily-Rose Sharkova (AUS), the project draws on deep folk currents while embracing improvisation, intricate rhythmic interplay, and heart-melting harmonies. U.S. multi-instrumentalist Elias Alexander closes the night with an electrifying solo set, layering electronic dance beats with bagpipes, fiddle, whistles, guitar, and vocals to create pulse-driven performances that lift audiences to their feet.
